Merdeka aka National Independence Day of Malaysia

August 31, 2010 Leave a comment

To me, it’s just another holiday or another I-can-sleep-late-and-wake-up-late-day. Only when there is event in school, or if I were in the mood, I will help to distribute flags, fling fling fling abit and to show my patriotism for a while. Normally doesn’t last more than 1 day.   =.=

Fly fly fly...

Last night went out with my Trilingual gang, where we took part in National Trilingual Elocution contest YEARS ago together, representing our own schools. I have forgotten when was the last time we all had a gathering and sat down to chat together. But it was a really awesome night, had a wonderful time with Kheng Fai, Yee En, Kent Kok, Sin Lei, Jia Huan and Yee En’s new BF, Ke Yang.

Went swimming this morning, supposed to go out with those people but I was lazy to watch movie. Hence I departed later and went for a stroll in Time square. (Since they went to Pavillion, I could meet up with them after their movie for lunch.)

The journey to Time square was horrifying. Firstly, the train’s air-conditioner was not functioning. I wasn’t sure if it was really spoiled, or the train company wanna cut cost, that compartment was stuffy and warm like hell. It was so damn packed, I almost suffocated while I was sitting down. There was this old Indian lady came in so I gave up my seat for her. But I pity her cos I think it was even more suffocating to sit down in an almost air-tight chamber without air-conditioner.

So I was leaning against a pillar. Suddenly, I felt something touching my right gluteal region. Initially I thought it was due to the shaking and movement of the train, caused imbalance of certain passenger, which lead to cramping among passengers. Hence I chose to ignore it. It stopped after I moved my body abit. BUT few seconds later it came back! So as a normal body reflex, I stretched out my hand to check. And I ter-grapped a hand…. =.=

WTH… I was shocked at the moment. Turned back, couldn’t really see who that fellow was, and didn’t get to catch him/her. Such a great timing, the train stopped and door opened. That fellow fled. =.=

Beware of pick pocket ppl!! Especially during “Festivals” where “organisms” like to cramp sardine in crowded places.

And now, I’m stuck in Wendy’s.

They are coming from Midvalley. William said that they are going to Pavillion, that’s why I came to Time square. Mana tahu they told me they were in Mid-valley just now when I texted. =.= Super sweat. I was totally unsure if I was conned or they are really coming from Mid-valley. Oh well… let’s have a one day trip in Time -square. Sweat….. =.=|||

Dream ~ 1

August 21, 2010 2 comments

Date: 14 Aug 2010 (night) ~ 15 Aug 2010 (morning)

a) Part1 : In supermarket, preparing for graduation farewell party.

b) Part2 : After party, everyone leaving.

c) Part3 : In a park, with secondary school friends, weird combination, weird stuff happened.

d) Part4 : (REM) In somewhere looks like Indonesia, got shot…

Part 1 characters involved: Nelson, Lily, Cha Lee (sec sch fren), Cheng Ing, some IMU friends, and some IMU staffs.

It was a scene where all of us were busy preparing for convocation. Nelson suggested to have a graduation farewell party, with steamboat and etc, something like a last gathering before we all leave. Then we all were busy choosing stuff in a supermarket. Meanwhile, suddenly saw some IMU SSD staffs were setting up a stage, looked like there were going to have a ceremony or what. Yea, they were having this IMU Awards Day. One of the award I heard was “Most dedicating student”, and the winner was Mr Nelson Lee!!! *claps*

***Transition to Part 2 ***

Part 2 characters involved: Nelson, Lily, Cheng Ing, Huey Ling, William, Wesley, Chao Xui, Shion, etc etc

After steamboat party. Everyone was leaving. I stood outside the place we stayed, it was like a small bungalow. Watching everyone leaving, William, ChaoXui, Shion went to bus station, Cheng Ing & Wesley rushing for flight. Huey Ling hilang. Towards the end, left me, Nelson and Lily. Their flights were on the next day, hence they suggested to go for a tour around the town.

***Transition to Part 3***

Part 3 characters involved: Lily, Wesley, Sec Sch frens (Wan Ting, Cheng Roei, Tie Yi, Han Yu, Sheng Chyang…)

We were in an olden British style part. With old wooden swing, see-saw and slide. It was like in Autumn, with leaves falling down while wind blew. We sat down under a huge tree with a table and benches under it. Cheng Roei and I discovered this fantastic slope nearby. There were these 2 pathway, up and down, when you walked on it, it would move by itself. Something like an escalator made of cemented pathway, ie moving-pathway. We found it amazing and therefore walked on it few times repeatedly.

Sorry my arts isn't good, dunno how to demonstrate out the slope...

After a while, we stopped and sat down to eat some food. Of a sudden, Lily and Wesley appeared around the slope and started walking on it. And I heard them saying that “Wah so hard to walk, so steep the slope, have to hold the bar at the side…”

What? The slope wasn’t steep at all when I first walked on it! So I decided to try again. But this time, it was totally different from just now. The slope became very steep and I couldn’t even see the other end of it. How come? It was very short initially! Cheng Roei and I had to hold the bar at the side but we slipped down. While we were trying to go up, I felt like the slope had become steeper and steeper, almost 90 degree perpendicular to the ground. But Cheng Roei seemed walked up very easily. Very fast, I lost her, and slipped down to the never ending end. And there, I saw Lily and Wesley.

***Transition to Part 4***

Part 4 characters involved: Wolf, William, Wesley, Lily, Nelson, homestay’s family, homestay’s daughter Fen Fen, some unknown people.

(This part of the dream only lasted for about 15 mins, but I felt like I spent one whole day there…)

This final scene looked rather eerie and terrifying. The sky was always dark and down, grayish & brownish in colour. It looked like a trip, in Indonesia. The whole place was full of weird churches, temples and funny-looking buildings. We walked around, and put our luggage in a home-stay.

Had our dinner, and it was around 11pm. However the streets looked kinda creepy and extraordinary quiet. Couldn’t see any people walking around, and what we could see were only churches and temples. Suddenly, wolf suggested to play a game.

“Use stones to throw onto the target (the peak of churches’/temples’ rooftop). ”

I found this game rather dangerous as we know no one from local, and this might insult any of those goddess or whatsoever. I told myself I am not going to play this in my dream. And I tried to stop them but it was too late.

We all were in the room we stayed in the home-stay. The home-stay’s family daughter FenFen was with us. Suddenly I felt somebody touching my head. But I was leaning on the wall with no one behind me!!!! Who could touch my head? My 6th sense told me not to say anything so that those “stuff” won’t realise that I have discovered “them”. Next, what happened was this creepy looking man, with a clown make-up, was sitting beside William. (William was sitting beside me, on the bed) That fellow was bleeding from his eyes, nose, mouth and ears… Extremely terrifying look. But I saw William talking to “him” !!!!! Then I thought William saw the stuff too, so I asked,

“Hey, you saw also ah??”

He turned to me with this confused look ,”Saw what??”

Right at the moment, I know it’s gone case for me. The Indonesian girl Fen Fen turned her head like a puppet, with her facial expression turned very scary. (Like what happened to the girl in “The Exorcist”)

Suddenly, from no where, Wolf found this toy gun, of course, with no bullet. Fen Fen took the gun from him, and started pointing at people.

Pointed to Wolf,  “Takde…” she said. (Means no bullet)

Pointed to William, “Takde…”

Pointed to Wesley, “Takde…”

At last, she pointed to me… I gasped and dare not moved…

She shot at me… twice….

Not black out, I “white-out” instead, everything around me turned white….

Right before I woke up, I saw this newspaper floating in front of me. It was an Indonesian Chinese Newspaper, with some huge words on it…

“芬芬枪杀牙医” (Means, “Fen Fen shot dentists with gun”)

So, some questions kept on appearing in my mind in the few seconds before I woke up.

“Why dentists????”

“Did I die???”

The End…

So, Inception was right? yea, you got shot in dream, you would wake up…..

Every night, as we close our eyes and slip away from the waking world, we may enter an even richer one, the elusive realm of dreams.

I don’t know anybody isn’t fascinated by dreams. They are outrageous events in our lives. They can be bewildering, terrifying, inspiring, but do they mean anything? Are dreams the nonsensical byproducts of a sleeping brain? Or a window to our unconscious mind, rich with revelations? Why would Mother Nature highly activate your brain, paralyse your body, sexually activate you, and force you to watch these things we call dreams?

Why? Why would Mother Nature do that?

After more than a century of searching, scientists may finally be nearing an answer by literally watching dreams unfold, and testing their impact on both our sleeping and waking lives.

“Dreaming is a process, and not only is it useful, it might be essential for making sense of the world.”

What are dreams???

Here is the definition of DREAM from Wikipedia

A dream is a succession of images, sounds or emotions that the mind experiences during sleep.[1] The content and purpose of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. The scientific study of dreams is known as oneirology.

Perhaps it would be a good idea if I could record down what I have been dreaming, and I might be able to get through something from it.

I do not usually dream alot. I almost hardly have a dream before I entered university. Even I had one, I couldn’t really remember after I woke up. I even felt jealous of my friends who used to dream, and even dreamed about the exam questions during exam period, which eventually came out more or less the same. I got no proof if he/she lied to me, but I did hope that I could dream more. I am really curious in the world of dream. How is it actually like?

However, I started to have this sort of period which I would tend to dream every night. And I actually remember very clearly what I saw in my dreams. Now, I found it irritating, and I have the perception that I didn’t have good rest. Hence it troubled me even worse.

Well, let’s see what dream I have had…

Are you aware of…

August 15, 2010 2 comments

“Madam, are you aware of any water pooling around your house?”

“Sir, are you aware of smoking is bad for health?”

“Are you aware of passive smoking?”

It was part of our Community Medicine project. So with the began of Semester 5, we were required to do a Comm Med project, comprises a house-hold survey, a research project and an organisation detailed report, not forgetting the presentation + final portfolio report.

In two weeks time, with a blur mind after a one-month-totally-doing-nothing-everyday-eat-sleep-play-watchTV-rusty-blunted-mind, we welcomed the starting of the toughest semester in phase 1. Lecturers bombarded us with all the information about statistics, survey, researches, analysis… which I hated to the max. But no choice, 4% of our final grade, I still have to do it.

I don’t want to recall the torturing process of figuring out what to do in our group project. And not mentioning the hot sun, long distance walk, tiring, being rejected for numerous times, awful attitude of the respondents, we eventually completed our house-hold survey. Now I know how hard it is to do a house-hold survey. Next time if want to do a research, do something easier such as going to an institute where respondents can fill in the form themselves. Haha!! And next time, I will try my best to answer a survey if anyone would like to do one. (To stop the vicious cycle… ==)

SPSS became our good friend, but I still don’t know him well enough. Keying in data is another horrible process, but it could be fun though. Looking at some of the data crapped out by some of our group-mate without being processed in mind first, I laughed my ass off for quite a number of times.

Eg. 5.5metre height,

everyday exercise for 10 hours,

22year old guy with a smoking history of 20 years,

someone who is not smoking at all has the intention to QUIT smoking…..

all the crap la….

Now, I just want to get it over as soon as possible…

All and all,

I have been reminded for many many times…
